Description

This is a late 18th-century row of terraced cottages located on the north side of Benefield Road. The buildings are two storeys high and are constructed of coursed rubble, with stone slate roofs punctuated by four dormers. The windows are largely casements; those at numbers 79 and 81 have two lights, number 77 has three, and number 75 features a hung sash window with glazing bars. All windows are set beneath wooden lintels. Similar window arrangements are present on the ground floor. Each cottage has a door beneath a wooden lintel, and numbers 79 and 81 have porches. Numbers 63, 65, 69 to 81 (odd), and the Black Horse Public House form a group of buildings appreciated for their collective group value.
