Description

The Croft is a farmhouse, now a house, likely dating from the 17th century, with significant alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and ashlar, with a thatched roof and moulded stone ridge and end stacks. The building is two storeys and has a four-window front. Three bays on the right have been refaced in ashlar, featuring a three-light small-paned casement window, a six-panel door (with the upper two panels glazed) set within a porch, a 20th-century French window, and three-light small-paned casement windows to the first floor, all with gauged stone heads. The left-hand bay, of coursed rubble, has a three-light small-paned casement window on both the ground and first floors, and a blocked doorway to the right, all with wooden lintels. A rear wing, originally a separate cottage and dated 1748, has been heightened.

The interior of the left-hand ground floor room contains an inglenook fireplace and a door to wide boards. The central ground floor room also has an inglenook fireplace, a stone chimney piece with a surrounding cornice, and a two-panel door. The right-hand ground floor room features a large six-panel door fitted with heavy hinges. The building retains boxed ceiling beams.
