Description
The Old Hare Public House is a building dating from the 17th century and later, which has been refronted. It features colourwashed rough-cast rendering and an old tile roof. The structure is partly one storey with an attic and partly two storeys. The one-storey section includes a gabled dormer that rises through the eaves. The two-storey section has one sliding casement window with a cambered relieving arch above it. A panel displaying the name of the pub runs the full length of the building at the first-floor level. The ground floor includes a door, two fixed windows with leaded lights—one marked 'Parlour' and the other 'Taproom'—and a carriage entrance with boarded doors. The bar windows feature shutters with Arts and Crafts detailing, which is consistent with the date of 1907 found on the rainwater heads.
