Description

Numbers 49 and 51, known as Shire Cottage, are a pair of cottages originally dating to the 17th century, but with a refronting in the 18th century. They are constructed of brick, colourwashed white, and have a hand-made tile roof with a brick cornice. The cottages are two storeys high. The first floor has two sliding casement windows set under the eaves. On the ground floor, there are two board doors within a simple, open-gabled porch, and two two-light casement windows, each with a cambered relieving arch.
