Description
The Bury is a house that was formerly an inn, dating from the 17th century and altered over time. It features a mix of construction materials, including partly timber framing and brick from the 18th and 19th centuries. The front (southwest) elevation has modern tile hanging on the upper part, while the building is topped with a hipped old tile roof that has dentil eaves. A large central chimney made of old bricks is a prominent feature.
The entrance includes a door and five casement windows with segmental arches, along with three 3-light casements on the first floor. There are also two modern sash windows on the southeast elevation that faces the Common. Inside, there is a large offset brick stack for the fireplace, original beams, and old roof timbers. On the first floor, a chamfered brick arch can be found above the fireplace in the southeast room.
