Description

This is a row of 18th-century terraced houses, restored at a later date. The houses are built of brown brick with some burnt headers, and have old tile roofs. They comprise numbers 12 to 20 (even) on Shepherd’s Lane. The first floor has four sliding casement windows set under the eaves. Numbers 12 and 18 lack glazing bars. The ground floor has four board doors, with the door of number 12 featuring a central glazed panel. Numbers 12 and 14 also have four sliding casement windows, lacking glazing bars. Number 20 has a modern tripartite casement window on the ground floor, alongside an altered carriage entrance. The first floor of number 20 has three modern two-light casement windows. The group value of these buildings reflects their contribution to the character of the area.
