Description
La Lanterna is a building that likely dates back to the 17th century but has been refronted. It features a timber frame with brick and an old tile roof. The ground floor has a modern shop front. On the first floor, there are two sash windows located beneath the eaves. The left side of the building is constructed of 19th-century brick and includes the entrance to No 57A on the left, a sash window with a segmental head, and a subsidiary door. The first floor here has three sash windows, with the leftmost being a sliding window.
To the left are Nos 59 and 61. The ground floor of these properties is brick, while the first floor displays exposed timber framing with colourwashed brick infill, topped by an old tile roof. The ground floor features a modern sliding sash window, a board door to No 61, a board door to No 59, a modern two-light casement, and an original sliding casement window. The first floor has three sliding casements. At the left-hand return, or the rear of the wing, there is exposed timber framing.
