Description

No. 1 Germain Street is an 18th-century building with a later alteration. The prominent front facade is constructed of checkered red and blue-grey brickwork, rising two storeys in height. An early 19th-century oriel shop bay window is centrally placed, featuring glazing bars, a decorative frieze, and a cornice that extends to form a hood over the half-glazed entrance door. Two sash windows with glazing bars are located on the first floor, set within reveals and topped with cutter flat arches. Behind the brick facade lies a concealed 17th-century timber-framed structure with brick nogging and a tiled roof.
