Description

Home Farmhouse is a late 17th-century house, with alterations from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with a tiled roof, toothed brick eaves, and brick end stacks. The house has two main storeys, a basement, and an attic, originally with three bays. The main storeys have 20th-century barred sash windows with stone surrounds on the ground floor, and timber lintels above the first-floor windows. The basement has 20th-century casements with stone surrounds, and air bricks on the sides. Gabled dormers have paired barred casements and decorative bargeboards. The central entrance has a panelled door, which is half-glazed, with a barred rectangular fanlight above. A 19th-century rendered gabled porch has an arch to the front and marginal coloured glazing to the return windows. A parallel range extends to the rear. A wing at a right angle to the rear right has been demolished, but a plaque dated 1762 has been re-set into the east wall.
