Description

This is an early 19th-century house, with a rear wing dating from an earlier period. The house is built of coursed stone rubble with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has a three-bay wide front and two bays deep. Notable features include quoin strips and a hipped roof with wide eaves. The windows have splayed ashlar reveals, label moulds, and small-paned casements, many with two pointed lights and moulded frames. The south facade has a pointed entrance with a panelled door in the central bay, accompanied by a later half-glazed lean-to porch. Lateral stacks are present on the returns. A north wing, two bays wide, has paired sash windows with glazing bars and horns on the ground floor of its west elevation. The first-floor windows here have splayed ashlar reveals and label moulds, and are sash windows with glazing bars. This wing also has an entrance with a panelled door and overlight, and a cross-axial stack. An east-facing single-storey wing has casement windows.
