Description

Harcourt House is a two-storey building with a half-H plan, located on West Dean Park Lane. The west half of the house, which forms one side of the L shape, dates from the 17th century or earlier, while the east half, forming the other side of the L, is from the 18th century. The exterior is faced with red brick, featuring red brick quoins, an eaves cornice, and some areas of tile-hanging. The roof is tiled with half-hipped gables on the wings. The west half has casement windows, while the east half has sash windows with glazing bars. There is a doorway that is topped with a pediment-shaped hood.
