Description

The Church of St Michael in Compton Upmarden is a Grade I listed building that dates back to the 13th century. It features a chancel, a nave with a west tower, which has its upper section covered with weather-boarding, and a south porch. The structure is built from stone rubble and is plastered, topped with a tiled roof. This small and charming church has seen little restoration over the years. In the churchyard, located to the east of the porch, there is a bell mounted on a low frame. The church includes a 13th-century chancel arch, with repairs made in the 16th century, and a trefoil-headed piscina.
