Description
Avenings is a large, late 18th-century house located in Golden Square, Petworth. It is a three-storey building with seven windows. The walls are of red brick set upon a stone base, featuring long and short stone quoins, a modillion cornice and parapet. A brick stringcourse runs above the ground floor. The three central window bays project forward and are topped by a pediment. The glazing bars have been lost. A central porch with Doric columns has an altered entablature and contains a doorway with a six-panelled door.
