Description

Teddards Barn, built in 1823, is a sheep folding barn with an attached yard. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings and features a slate roof. The barn has three bays and central double doors set beneath brick segmental arches. The roof has half hipped end gables. The enclosed yard includes single-storey stalls with hipped roofs, an open feeding trough, and cut stone slots for hurdle entrances to both the yard and the stalls. The yard is designed to pen sheep using lifts instead of gates. This structure is noted as an early example of a Downs sheep fold.
