Description
Farm Cottage is a cottage dated 1741, as indicated by the inscription near the front door. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with grey headers, set on a cemented plinth. The cottage features an early 19th-century extension on the left side and has been altered with refenestration and a small extension added to the outshut in the 20th century. The original building has a gable-ended tiled roof on the left with a brick chimney stack, and a half-hipped roof on the right with an external stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has two windows. The ground floor has 20th-century casements with cambered head linings, and there is a cambered central doorcase with a 20th-century door. The rear elevation includes an L-wing with a hipped roof, tile-hung first floor, and flint ground floor. The left side features a 20th-century flat-roofed extension, tile-hung on the first floor and made of flint and brick on the ground floor, adapted from an outshut. Additionally, there is a one-storey early 19th-century extension on the left side in stretcher bond with a hipped roof and a casement window. Inside, the cottage has an open fireplace with a wooden bressumer.
