Description
The Parish Church of St Michael and All Angels is a Grade I listed building located in Berwick. It is constructed of flint with stone dressings and features a tiled roof. The church includes a chancel, a nave with aisles, and a west tower topped with a broached shingled spire. The structure dates back to the 13th century, with later windows added, and the spire was rebuilt in 1774. The entire church underwent restoration in 1856. Inside, there are a series of 20th-century mural paintings created by Quentin and Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant between 1942 and 1943. Notable features include a monument to John Nutt, dated 1656, an Easter Sepulchre, and a Piscinia.
