Description

The Thatched House and Hills Cottage is a combined building located on the north side of Down Street in West Ashling. The original part, known as the Thatched House, is a restored 16th century timber-framed structure featuring red brick infilling and curved braces on the first floor, topped with a hipped thatched roof. It has two storeys and three casement windows. Hills Cottage, added in the early 19th century at the south-west end, is also two storeys with three windows, constructed of red brick with alternating grey headers and a slate roof, also featuring casement windows.
