Description

Gorehill House is a late 19th-century house, designed in 1871 by Norman Shaw for Henry Upton, the solicitor and agent to Lord Leconfield of Petworth House. It was built by N H Lascelles. The house is two storeys high, with a four-window front. It is constructed from local stone and has a tiled roof. Casement windows are a feature. The right-hand window bay projects, featuring a bay window on each floor, topped by a gable supported by brackets, which incorporates a window in the attic. A smaller gable adjoins the right-hand bay to the left. A pentagonal bay extends across both floors on the left side, with a pyramidial roof above.
