Description

The Turnpike is an early 19th century former toll-house situated at Houghton Bridge. It is a one-storey building with three window bays. The walls are faced with flints and have white brick dressings, with the easternmost window bay finished in painted brick. The roof is slate, and the original glazing bars remain intact. A gabled porch is present.
