Description

The Parish Church of St John the Evangelist is a Grade I listed parish church located on Church Lane in Bury. The church features a chancel, a nave with a south aisle, a south porch, and a west tower topped with a broached shingled spire. The walls of the nave date back to the 12th century, while most of the church is from the 13th century. The spire was added in 1803, the south porch was constructed in the 16th century, and the chancel was rebuilt in 1855.
