Description
The George Inn is a restored 15th-century timber-framed building located on the east side of Alfriston High Street. It features close-studding with plaster infilling, while the ground floor has been rebuilt using flints with red brick dressings and quoins. The lower edge of the roof is covered with Horsham slabs, and the remainder is tiled. The building has casement windows and stands two storeys tall with six windows in total. One of the first-floor rooms contains remnants of wall paintings from the late 16th or early 17th century.
