Description

The Old Rectory is an early 19th-century house that has been altered since its original construction. It is two storeys high, with three windows visible on the north front. The north front is a mix of stucco, red brick, and tile hanging. The central bay projects slightly, featuring a moulded cornice and a pediment above. Wide eaves cornices are present on either side of this projecting bay. The roof is hipped and covered in slate, with intact glazing bars in the windows. A bay window is located on the ground floor at the west end. The south front is of painted brick, with two bays on each floor, and a later bay inserted between them. The ground floor of the east bay forms a portico, supported by four pilasters, with a window on either side of the doorway. The door itself consists of six fielded panels. An outhouse wing, dating to the 18th century, extends to the north-east, forming an 'L' shape with the main house.
