Description
This pair of boundary stones, located approximately 2,025 meters south of Home Farmhouse in Hutton Lowcross, dates from the early 19th century. The stones are made of roughly dressed limestone, with one stone standing about 60 cm high and measuring 16 cm by 35 cm. The southwest face of this stone is inscribed with the letters "T. H.R. G.A. 6." These boundary stones mark the division between the civil parishes of Guisborough and Great Ayton, as well as the counties of Cleveland and North Yorkshire. The listing also includes a second boundary stone located immediately to the southwest, which is recumbent and unmarked.
