Description

Crosthwaite Sunday School, dated 1833, was formerly a day school. It is built of stone rubble and slate, featuring a slate roof and is a single storey structure with corner buttresses. The building has four three-light sash windows with very small panes, set in sandstone ashlar architraves with labels. There is a gabled porch with a pointed arched doorway and an inscribed spandrel. Each gable end has a similar window on each floor. The gable end facing Crosthwaite Road also features a similar doorway, and there is a wing at the rear.
