Description

Storeythwaite is a house, probably dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of white-washed stone rubble with a slate roof and square chimneys. The front of the house features a wide gabled wing with a window on each floor, alongside a recessed doorway and window on the right side of the wing. The windows are modern replacements but retain old slate dripstones. Evidence of an external oven is visible on the lower wall, adjacent to a chimney. The rear of the house is low in height, with two storeys and a blocked array of small windows. For context regarding the surrounding area, please refer to the general group description for Troutbeck Village.
