Description

Pixies is a cottage dating from the mid to late 19th century, with extensions added around 1970. It is constructed of plastered granite stone rubble, with a stone rubble stack and a plastered brick chimneyshaft, and has a thatched roof. The original plan was that of a 2-room cottage in the cottage ornée style, facing southwest, with a stack on the right gable end and the main entrance in the left end wall. Later additions include a 20th-century conservatory on the right end and a 2-storey service extension to the rear. The main cottage is two storeys high and has a symmetrical 3-window front. The windows have pointed arch heads, containing original casements with glazing bars and glazed arch heads. A 20th-century slate-roofed porch shelters the left-end doorway. The roof is gable-ended on the right and half-hipped to the left. The conservatory extension incorporates a secondary doorway and a large full-height window, and has a steeply pitched, hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
