Description
The Devonshire Inn is a 17th-century inn that has been altered in the 20th century. It features plastered stone rubble walls and a gable-ended thatched roof, with a rendered stack at the left gable end. The original internal layout is not entirely clear due to the 20th-century changes, but it likely consisted of two rooms with a through passage that has since been removed, although the opposing doors remain. The only surviving early fireplace is located in the room to the right of the passage. The exterior is two storeys high, with an asymmetrical front that has three windows featuring late 18th-century or early 19th-century 20-pane hornless sashes. There is a wide 19th-century panelled door at the centre. Inside, there is an open fireplace with granite jambs and a chamfered wooden lintel.
