Description

This is a headstone dated 1836, located approximately 10 metres east-north-east of the chancel of the Church of Holy Trinity in Drewsteignton. It commemorates John Bolt and is made of slate. The upright slab stands about 1.8 metres high and features a shaped, round-headed top with acroteria. The head of the stone is adorned with a carved urn, and the acroteria are designed as flames. The inscription is framed in a rectangular border with sunbursts in the top corners, and below a carved scroll motif, it notes the death of John Bolt in 1836.
