Description
The adjacent headstones, located approximately 12 metres north-east of the chancel of the Church of Holy Trinity, are dated 1836 and 1837. The left headstone commemorates John Piller, while the right one is in memory of Ann Mardon. Both are made of slate and are upright slabs with shaped heads, with the Piller headstone standing about 450mm high and the Mardon headstone about 550mm high. They feature simple frames and inscriptions in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, along with some italicized text, recording the deaths of John Piller in 1836 and Ann Mardon in 1837.
