Description
This is a barn located approximately 2 metres south-east of Collihole Farmhouse, likely dating back to the 17th century. It was reroofed in the late 19th to early 20th century. The structure is made of granite stone rubble with large, roughly-dressed quoins and features a corrugated iron roof, which was originally thatch. The barn is designed as a threshing barn facing south-east, with small stables or byres at each end. It has opposing doors leading to the threshing floors, with the front door being full height and larger than the rear door. There is a hayloft loading hatch on the left side. Each stable or byre has a doorway, and the left one includes a small window alongside. The joinery details date from the late 19th or early 20th century, and the barn is part of a group of buildings in the hamlet that includes two former Dartmoor longhouses.
