Description
Ash house, possibly from the 18th century, is located immediately to the east of Ford Farmhouse. It is constructed of granite rubble and features a corbelled granite roof covered with turfs. The building has a circular plan and likely includes a dog kennel adjoining to the west. There is a loading hatch facing the farmhouse and a door on the opposite side, both framed in granite. The conical roof has a ledge where the walls meet the roof to help secure the turfs in place. This structure forms a group with Ford Farmhouse and its associated farm buildings.
