Description
1-3, Field Place is a building dating back to the 15th century, evidenced by a date stone of 1477. It was altered in the 16th and 17th centuries, and the front was largely rebuilt in the mid-18th century in a Gothic style, with further alterations carried out in the mid-19th century. The interior has been altered in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of ashlar and has a slate roof. It has two storeys and an E-shaped front. Crenellated parapets with original finials remain on the gable ends. Pointed mullioned windows are present throughout. A central three-storey porch, dating from the mid-18th century, features continuous pointed windows, quatrefoil panelling, and an embattled parapet. A panelled door from the 16th or 17th century survives in the attic.
