Description

The Church of the Immaculate Conception is a Roman Catholic parish church built in 1858, designed by Charles Alban Buckler. It is constructed with rock-faced rusticated exterior walls accented by ashlar dressings, and has a pitched slate roof. The church has an aisle layout and a five-bay pointed arcade. It includes two small chapels, one off the south aisle and one off the north aisle. The clerestory features quatrefoil oculi, and the aisle and east windows contain bar tracery. A rose window is located at the west end. The church, along with its presbytery, sacristy, parish hall, the Convent of St Rose of Lima (The Rosary), and Beechville, form a group.
