Description
Wickstone is a house located at the end of a row on Bisley Street in Painswick. It dates from the 17th and 18th centuries and incorporates earlier work. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a stone slate roof. It is a one-bay structure with a gable facing the street and a plain return gable that has a corbelled external stack. The house has two storeys and an attic, with one window on each floor.
On the ground floor, there is a late plate glass sash window set within a large blocked arched opening, which has an architrave and keystone beneath an entablature. The first floor features a 3-light chamfered mullion casement window with an 18th-century architrave and floating cornice. Above this, in the gable, is a 2-light chamfered surround casement window under a floating cornice. To the right of the main windows is a 20th-century flush door with a plain stone lintel, above which is a small single light chamfered mullion casement window with a stopped hood. The gables of the house are coped, and the left end has rusticated quoins.
