Description

This is a row of four cottages located at 6-12 St Mary's Street in Gloucester. Nos. 8 and 10 are likely from the 16th century, No. 6 is from the early 19th century, and No. 12 dates to the late 18th century, featuring a later rear extension. The cottages have a render finish on brick and timber frame, with plain tile roofs and brick stacks at the ends and ridge.

The buildings are two storeys high. No. 6 has a segmental brick arch above a mid-20th century door to the right, with flat arches over one glazing bar sash window (3x3 panes) on each floor, and a segmental arch over a small 6-light casement window to the left. Nos. 8 and 10, which are lower than the other properties, have a four-window front with mid to late 20th century doors and casements, except for a late 19th-century tripartite window to the right. No. 12 on the left features flat arches over a mid-20th century right-hand door with a plain overlight, a late 19th-century plate-glass sash window above a 3-light casement, and a mid-20th century gabled dormer. At the rear, there are mid-19th century wings for Nos. 6 and 12, with No. 6 having a hipped roof and No. 12's roof running parallel to the main range. The interior has not been inspected.
