Description
Alfardisworthy Well is a holy well that consists of a rock-cut, spring-fed basin, which is protected by a mortared rubble-built well house featuring a rectangular doorway that faces east. Although there is no definitive historical information about this well, its close connection to a 15th-century chapel suggests that it may date back to at least that period. The well is designated at Grade II due to several key reasons: the original well basin is likely to be intact, its association with a Grade II* 15th-century former chapel reinforces its identification as a holy well, and the well house may have medieval origins.
