Description
The White Hart Public House is a public house dating from the early to mid 19th century, located on Queen Street in Bideford. It features a solid rendered front wall and a slate roof, with a large rendered chimney situated at the left end of the ridge. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range. There is a central doorway flanked by a window at each outer end of both storeys. The front displays incised masonry markings and has pilaster strips at each end. The doorway is framed with a beaded surround and has a cornice supported by shaped brackets. The windows feature flat shaped surrounds and 8-paned sashes set in recessed box frames. A moulded board runs below the eaves. The interior has not been inspected, except for the ground-floor bar, which has been altered. Floor plans of the building are available at the Bideford Community Archive.
