Description

This is a road bridge over Bidwell Brook, located approximately 25 metres south of Woodcott. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of local stone rubble. The bridge features a small single span with a segmental arch. The voussoirs on the upstream side are made of ashlar, while those on the downstream side are less finely dressed, suggesting that the bridge may have been widened at some point. The bridge has low parapet walls with roughly dressed coping stones. Notably, the parapets over the abutments are splayed out and extend for a considerable length on the south side, and these extended parapet walls are included in the listing.
