Description
The granary located immediately south of Woodcott is a building likely dating from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed from local limestone and slate rubble, featuring cob walls at the upper levels on the north and south end walls. The roof is made of corrugated iron, gabled at the south end and half-hipped at the north end.
The building has a layout where the ground floor serves as a store or stables, while the granary is situated above, accessed by external stairs on the north end. A lean-to structure was added to the south end in the 19th century, which is open-fronted. In the 20th century, a wide garage doorway was inserted into the west side of the ground storey.
The exterior consists of two storeys. There is a single central doorway on the east side with a plank door and a timber lintel. The west side facing the road features a wide 20th-century doorway with a concrete lintel. The north end has external stone stairs leading to a left doorway that has an old plank door with wrought iron hinges. The open-fronted lean-to at the south end has a corrugated iron roof, but the open bays are now blocked.
