Description
Sunny Bank is a cottage, likely built in the 18th century, with a large extension added to the rear in the mid to late 20th century. The structure features stone rubble that is rendered above the first floor level and has a low-pitched slate roof with gabled ends and red clay ridge tiles. There is a projecting stack at the right-hand gable end with a rendered brick shaft.
The original layout probably consisted of a two-room plan with a central entrance, where the larger room on the right was heated by a gable end stack, while the left room was likely unheated. In the mid to late 20th century, these two rooms were combined into one, and the large extension was constructed at the back.
The exterior has two storeys and an asymmetrical south front with two windows. The windows are two-light casements with glazing bars; the left-hand casement on the first floor dates from the early 19th century, while the one below is a later replacement. The ground and first floor windows on the right had their casements removed for repair as of July 1987. There is a doorway to the left of centre featuring a late 20th-century panelled door and a late 20th-century glazed porch. The interior was not inspected.
