House. Late C18 (information from owner), said to have been built by the Southcomb family, rectors of Rose Ash from 1675 to 1948. Stone rubble, whitewashed and rendered; slate roof, with deep eaves on paired brackets, hipped at ends; end stacks. Plan: L plan, double depth south-facing main range with a rear left kitchen wing at right angles, other service buildings to the rear form a small rear courtyard. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay front with a platband at first floor level; central entrance with step up to a late C18/early C19 half-glazed panelled front door with a Greek key frieze, panelled reveals, an overlight with margin glazing and a simple wooden porch with columns supporting a moulded cornice. Late C18/early C19 16-pane sashes to the outer bays and a central 12-pane first floor sash. The right return has 2 late C18/early C19 16-pane sashes to the right, a round-headed first floor window with margin glazing and a C20 Georgian style window on the ground floor. Interior: Not inspected but includes shutters and other features of interest may survive.
