Description
This is a bank barn dated 1834, located approximately 40 metres south-east of Crossbury Farmhouse in East and West Buckland. The barn is constructed from stone rubble and features a hipped slate roof. It has a large, rectangular shape and is built into a bank, providing first-floor access to the rear over the shippons. The barn is two storeys high and has two large winnowing doors above a straight-headed door opening at the centre, which has a replaced lintel. Flanking this central doorway are round-arched openings that include two doorways to the left and a window opening on each side of the doorway to the right. A small date stone from 1834 is positioned between the winnowing doors. At the rear, there are two large cart entrances with double plank doors.
