Description
South Cockerham is a mid-18th century symmetrical house that shows Palladian influence. It is two storeys high and has a roughcast exterior with a slate roof. The building features four bays, with the three right-hand bays having a central pediment that includes a circular window. The bays are separated by pilasters, and the central bay projects outward, showcasing a central Venetian window adorned with female mask keystones. The other windows are tripartite sashes.
The doorcase features a wide open pediment with an ornate male mask keystone and reeded pilasters. It has a round-headed design with a fanlight and sidelights. The left-hand bay is of a lower elevation and includes a semi-circular first-floor window and a door surround that has a glyph and paterae cornice along with reeded pilasters. Inside, there is a hall with six-panelled doors, and there may be additional interior features of interest.
