Description
The Church of St Mary Magdalene is a parish church located in South Molton. It was mainly built in the 15th century and restored in the 19th century. The church is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof. It features a west tower with four stages and buttresses, topped with a crenellated parapet that includes finials and grotesque waterspouts. The structure comprises a nave along with north and south aisles, and there is a south porch that includes a sundial. The church has impressive traceried windows, although the glass is from the Victorian period. Inside, there is a five-bay nave with finely carved capitals, a notable 15th-century pulpit, and a stone font. Additionally, there are significant 18th-century wall monuments.
