Description
Rill Cottages is a pair of adjoining cottages, likely built in the early 19th century. They are colourwashed and rendered, topped with a slate roof that has gabled ends. The cottages feature end stacks and an axial stack with brick shafts. The layout consists of a single-depth plan with a rear wing; the right-hand cottage is double-fronted with an entrance between two rooms, while the left-hand cottage is smaller with an entrance located on the front at the right. The cottages are two storeys tall and have an asymmetrical window arrangement with two and three windows. Both cottages have identical gabled brick porches with timber lattice gables and are fitted with a complete set of 19th-century two-light small-pane casements. These cottages are an attractive pair situated prominently at one of the entrances to Morebath Manor.
