Description

The buildings at 9 and 10 Church Road date to around 1810. They form a three-storey, three-window red brick block, with the central windows being blind. Number 9 features a first-floor cast iron balcony and a small balcony above one of the windows. A central elliptical arch provides access over the footway to Cowick Street. The doorways have simple doorcases with cornices; the doorcase at number 9 has a Rococo carved head, which appears to have been brought from another location. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The roofs are slate. Numbers 6 to 14 form a group.
