Description

Monkton House is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys high. It features a roughcast exterior and a modern slate roof. The front has five double-hung sash windows, with all except the centre window having three lights and blind boxes. The entrance is located under an open pediment supported by engaged Tuscan columns, and it has a six-panelled door with a fanlight that includes glazing bars. On the east side, there is an external chimney in the centre, which has offsets made of large ashlar blocks. The roof is adorned with a moulded cornice and dentils. At the rear, there are wings on each side and a modern brick addition in the centre.
