Description
Pinbrook House is a large, three-storey house, said to have been the Manor House. The date 1679 is inscribed below a decorative wooden shield above the front door, featuring a coat of arms surrounded by good carving, all set within a moulded frame and a small pulvinated frieze. The house is constructed of red brick with a hipped slate roof and a wide, dentilled cornice visible only at the front. There are four casement windows on both the top and first floors, with blocked windows positioned between them. A band runs between the floors, but it terminates above the outer windows, although the walls extend beyond. An extension on one side appears to contain long, blocked windows reminiscent of stair windows, although the brickwork does not suggest it is a later addition. A late 19th-century open timber porch stands at the front. On the south front is a large external brick chimney, with a red stone base and large moulded coping. On the west front are two wings, each containing a staircase; the wing on the left has several blocked windows and none are currently open, while the wing on the right has windows following the stairs, with stepped bands above, although four of these windows, along with others elsewhere, are blocked. The interior has not been inspected.
