Description

Homebush Cottage is a ruin of a small house dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed of stone rubble, with only the two gable ends and fragments of the front and rear walls still standing. The gables feature large internal stone chimney stacks, each with fireplaces that have chamfered stone jambs and massive cambered timber lintels with stopped chamfers. There is a similar but smaller fireplace on the first floor at the east end. The gable ends contain small two-light ovolo moulded stone mullion windows, with three on the east end and one on the west end. The building was originally designed as a two-storey house with an attic.
