Description

The boundary post at the junction with the B390 is a cast-iron T-shaped post dating from around 1840. It features a low pedimented top with the names "HEYTESBURY" on the right arm and "KNOOK" on the left arm. The top of the post is marked with "C & M/W/1840," indicating the work of Carson and Miller, a firm of ironfounders based in Warminster. This post is part of a series of boundary posts and cast-iron milestones that were erected around 1840 along the Warminster radial turnpike roads.
